About
The mindset side deserves real training
Athletes lift, run, drill, film-study and rehab. They spend thousands of hours training the physical side of their sport. Then they walk into the biggest moments of their careers with almost no structured training for the mindset side of competition.
Nerves before a tryout. A benching that shakes confidence. One mistake that turns into four. A captain who isn't sure how to lead. A locker room whose standards slip in week nine. None of that is a character flaw, it's untrained skill.
A-1 Mindset was built to make that training normal, structured and accessible. Athletes get a real curriculum, weekly exercises, journaling and goal tracking, and, on Performance and Elite memberships, an assigned coach who knows their season, their sport and their goals.
Every A-1 coach is a real human being with competitive and athletic leadership experience. Athletes are matched with the coach who fits their sport, level and goals.
We are deliberately non-clinical. A-1 Mindset provides mindset and performance coaching plus education. It does not provide psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, or emergency services. When an athlete needs licensed care, we say so and point to real resources.

Tyler Mayo
Founder | A-1 Performance Coach
Tyler is a former collegiate baseball player and multi-sport athlete who has spent roughly 18 seasons coaching and about five years in athletic administration. He currently serves as an Athletic Director, working every day with athletes, coaches and teams on leadership, accountability, culture, preparation and performance. He started A-1 Mindset because athletes spend countless hours developing physically while confidence, pressure, mistakes and leadership are usually left for them to figure out alone.
